Many German immigrants settled here in the 19th century, bringing with them their breweries and beer halls. Actually, Bushwick was called the "beer capital of the Northeast." Many other communities moved in the neighborhood in the 50s, and Bushwick quickly became a melting pot of cultures.
Since the mid 90s, Bushwick has became a home for artists from around the world. The neighborhood is bursting with amazing restaurants, colorful street art, hip boutiques and bars. Take a look around, and you’ll see for yourself that culture is not lacking in this neighborhood.
